Women's Summer Bible Studies
Tuesday Evening Study:
"Girlfriends in God" Trusting God
In a culture where we're taught to take control of our own lives, trusting God has become a religious platitude rather than a life changing attitude. We say it, but do we really mean it? And what does trusting God really look like? The Girlfriends in God ministry team- Sharon Jaynes, Mary Southerland, and Gwen Smith- have been there. They've combined spiritual truths with practical application to make trusting God a reality for any woman willing to believe. These are the same ladies who will be leading our upcoming Girlfriends in God "Unshakable Faith" Conference in October!
We will meet in the Library.
July 8th through August 26th
6:00 - 8:00 PM
Please contact Barbara Newman at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information and to sign up for this study. We hope you will join us!
Wednesday Morning Study:
The Book of Colossians
The church at Colosse was no different than many churches today - heresy and false teaching was creeping into the church. Several years after the Colossian church was founded, a dangerous heresy arose to threaten it. The church had become plagued with pagan mysticism and legalism. Elements of these teachings later became known as gnosticism - that God is good, but matter is evil, denial of the humanity of Jesus Christ and seeking a secret, higher knowledge above Scripture is necessary for enlightenment and salvation. Other heresies included worship of angels and rigid asceticism. Paul is writing this letter from a Roman prison to warn and correct the false doctrines.
We will meet in the library.
Refreshments will be provided!
July 9th through July 30th
Our format is informal and friendly with small group discussion. Come and bring a friend! No additional study books are needed, as we will be studying one chapter per week. We provide extra Bibles for those who need them.
