Giving FAQs

How do I contribute to the "Possibility" campaign?

"A Place of Possibility" is our campaign to fund construction of our new church home in Williston. We hope to break ground in 2010, with the potential of opening in late 2011. You can help make this a reality by pledging an amount you can give and then schedule your donations by login to a secure account.

What other things can I give to?

Unmarked donations go to meet the cost of operating church ministries, as do those marked "Operations", "General Fund" or "Critical or greatest need." Donations are also accepted for approved purposes such as the new building (Building Fund), Christian & Missionary Alliance worldwide missions (Alliance Missions) or congregation charity (Benevolent Fund). For a list of all funds approved for donations, see the Approved Funds page.

What are the ways I can give?

You can give by cash, check or stock and online by credit card or eCheck. (Stretch your donation dollar the farthest with eCheck since that incurs the lowest processing cost of all ways of giving, including cash and paper checks!)  See more information about each of these methods.

What are giving slips?

How can I turn a stock loss into a win?

If you took a loss in the stock market, you may still be able to make a tax-wise gift. By selling stock at a loss and then making a donation of the same amount of money the stock was sold for, you can do the following:
  • Claim a charitable deduction for the gift (up to a maximum of 50% of your Adjusted Gross Income for cash gifts to qualified charitable organizations).
  • Deduct a net realized loss on the sale of the stock from your other income (subject to limitations and in excess of capital gains), thereby reducing the taxes you pay.
See Giving by Stock on the Donations Methods page.
