What is the Katrina Project '08?

In July, students from the Exchange (graduating 8th graders through graduating seniors) will be traveling to Waveland, MS to assist in the rebuilding efforts in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.  Even two years after the storm, there are still hundreds of families who have not had their homes rebuilt.

We will be working alongside the Christian Life Center of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. Camp Katrina (original name) arrived three days after Hurricane Katrina made landfall – they were the first to arrive.  Over the years, their responsibilities have changed from survival and clean-up to their current efforts, rebuilding.  Their mission is to “provide services to give motivated individuals new hope while inspiring new opportunities for improved quality of life.”
